Green Growing Billboard!

0807greenyogawall.JPGA Fine Blog reports that Pure Yoga on 86th Street has a green wall up, which they call a living wall. "The 1000sf living wall is watered by a computerized irrigation system and trimmed every couple of weeks." With seasonal changes, the plants will be changed out to endure the weather. An urban farm? Not quite. Curbed notes that even though it doesn't have the yoga studio's logo up there, it's gathering them a lot of attention anyway. Plus, it just looks cool. Related: this is almost exactly what the new Galapagos building in DUMBO has in store as well (they're planning a vertical grass wall with flowers).

That wall has been up for a while now. And it's not like it's tucked away in some obscure location, it's on 86th St.

I guess it's news to Jen Carlson and whoever writes A Fine Blog. I wonder what new wonders they have yet to discover?

People like Jen Carlson and other hipster immigrants to NYC consider anything above 14th street "upstate NY."

That's one big chia pet!
