At a press conference today Mayor Bloomberg showed a surprising command of Jay-Z's music. The pair were on hand to discuss the start of the vehicle-free "Summer Streets" program, per the Observer's Azi Paybarah someone noted how one of the hip-hop mogul's song "describes how his mother taught him to ride a bike at a young age." Bloomberg cut in, "This is from, 'Mother I Made It?'" surprising even Jay-Z, who confirmed the Mayor was right. Bravo, to the staffer who briefed Bloomberg on Jay-Z's discography! You can see video here--Jay-Z says he bikes, but declined to say where, or else the paparazzi would be on his tail.

'The pair were discuss the start of the vehicle-free "Summer Streets" program'
"The pair were discuss"??
"Bravo, to the staffer who briefed Bloomberg on Jay-Z's discography"
It wasn't the staffer. You underestimate Bloomberg's skills. I saw him at the China Club last week and he was bustin loose
There will be bike rides to Summer Streets from Queens (Astoria, Sunnyside, Flushing), Brooklyn (Bed-Stuy, Park Slope, Flatbush, Williamsburg/Greenpoint) and the Bronx (Co-Op City, Parkchester, South Bronx) on all three Saturdays.

This summer street thing is going to be sweet. I'm heading uptown by bike for a picknic in central park!
Ooh, that Bloomie, he's slick!
And Jack9, don't pick on Jen's typing! It wouldn't be her if there were no typos!
:)
OK... Think someone (like maybe Jay-Z) shoulda let him know that although he got the line right... The song was not 'Mother I Made It', which is on the Kingdom Come album. But instead is from 'December 4th' which is on his Black Album.
With Bloomie in the fold, does this mean it's ok to drink Cristal again?
