Now that Brett Favre is coming to East Rutherford, questions are swirling around the fate of Jets longtime, many-times injured quarterback Chad Pennington. The Post reports that Pennington is "expected to be released by the Jets this afternoon," and that the Dolphins have already put a call into Pennington's agent--plus the Vikings and Chiefs may be interested. Kansas City might be a welcome place for Chad, since former Jets coach Herm Edwards is there. One very far-fetched idea: A Boston Globe blog suggests that Pennington would be a good backup for Tom Brady.

Chad's Hanging for sure
kojak, on behalf of everyone more than a zygote eight years ago: groan!
Sorry Chad
If only you weren't made of glass
You could have been someone
hah Sorry, if I didnt say it, someone else wouldve.
Pennington a backup for Tom Brady? I love Chad, I think he's a great leader and he's kind of cute. But he doesn't have the strongest arm and he spent much of last season all banged up. Chad with the Pats is just a far-fetched idea.
How about as a backup for Favre? Brett's a beaten down old QB, who pretty much stunk last year. If the Jets are lucky he'll have two or three great games, a few good ones, and a bunch of mediocre showings.
They really seem about equals. Brett is a legend whose game has fallen below his high standard. Chad is a capable kid whose failed to meet expectations. They are meeting in the middle and so all I can say is, Ticket sales aside, this deal stinks!
Good Bye Chad... Thanks for the years of disappointments!!! You wont be missed by New York at all!
BRETT - LETS MAKE HISTORY!!!!! GO GET THAT RING!
