fuck studio B. i've dealt with them a number of times as an event organizer and a performer, and they've ranged from unhelpful and unfriendly to malicious and shady as hell. like cancelling an benefit event a week beforehand, after setting it up months before, because they decided they could probably sell more liquor that way. giant assholes. good riddance.

They did book some great shows, but the conditions endured to attend their events were close to unbearable. I really don't think they're in the position to charge $4 for a tiny cup of seltzer water (because you don't always feel like drinking alcohol) with a scowl. After the garden opened you could hear everything 2-3 blocks away at 2am. I don't mind a degree of noise and love going out at night, but that was unacceptable. You have to respect the old folks and make sure there's a balance in the neighborhood.

I have some friends in their mid 20s who share a backyard fence with Studio B, party there once in a while. They were able to tolerate the noise before the roofdeck opened, the past two months have been a nightmare.

Well, one of their loudest critics is in her thirties, doesn't mind bars and could drink either of us under the table. So maybe people who don't live in the neighborhood should just STFU.

From what I've heard. This sounds like it is for the best. I'm no fan of the Cabaret Laws, but Studio B was breaking a lot more laws than that and flaunting it. So, good riddance.
