Manhattan Criminal Courthouse Confessions!

phpy8NRR3AM.jpgThe NY Times has a story on freelance photog Steven Hirsch, who has set up shop outside of the Manhattan Criminal Court and begun interviewing the cast of characters who filter out of the building each day--and it's all documented on his blog: Courthouse Confessions. Hirsch even compares the interviews he conducts with the official court records and has found "unsurprisingly, that there are also defendants who appeared to leave out certain unsavory details." Needless to say, it makes for an amusing read--take Janet Braha, who stole a bra from Urban Outfitters despite not being the "bra type." Prior to the theft she says she "begged them for me to take it, but they wouldn't let me, they said I couldn't come back to the store for three more years."
