sadpanda: Paterson's ruling said that people married in other states would be considered married in NY. But MA did not allow out-of-state marriages, so NYers had to go to California.

well, with paterson's ruling back in may, ny gays have been able to marry in mass. since may, so this new law really doesn't change anything for new yorkers
