China is a totalitarian regime that crushes dissent by crushing and jailing people. You don't hear about this because the press can't report it. criticism of the Chinese government should be kept separate from the people of China. For the most part, the people who live there are decent people, poor and hard-working.

The IOC has dropped the ball on this one. Sending the Olympics to a country with roving execution trucks and enforced internet censorship. I'm curious what was going through their minds when they chose this place over Paris, Toronto, or even Istanbul for crying out loud. Even more strangely, we blithely sit by and drink Coke from cans emblazoned with the logo of those same Olympics. These Olympics are just a tragedy.
