The tourists were from Spain. They're used to this kind of shit. In parts of Spain you have to hide everything you're carrying in your underwear and then you still have to fight off packs of thieving kids and pickpockets, and it's normal to do so with your fists without fear of the bad guys escalating it and shooting you in the head. The average New Yorker or even average tourist would just give up the goods, having no real experience dealing with this kind of thing and in fear that the little punks might be packing.

Kudos to the cops though for catching them, and I hope they can do so again next week after the little pricks have been released and do the same thing to someone else.

The problem with these criminals is that they have no problem taking someones life while the average human-being can't take violence that far. You really have no idea what the criminals are capable of. Fight back? Get shot.

However, if more of these attackers were killed, yes, I believe that crime would go down. That's a good thing.
