Barack Obama and John McCain have made recent statements on US offshore oil drilling while on the US presidential campaign trail. Well, Offshore Drilling is a huge issue right now and rightly so. Between the desire to deal with the economic mess that is being spurred by the price of oil and the on-going longer-term concern of global warming,how do we address all of this? Deca, the amusing thing is: Lots of people think the Democrats are big spenders and NOT the GOP. Both are big spenders, not the traditional Republican way. But the Democrats still spend much much much more. Yes, the GOP leads us into $3T wars. But that's still far less than the unfunded entitlements that Democrats have and will continue to try and push through. But both parties support Medicaid and Medicare and the pharm bills that are not even paid. We have over $50T in domestic entitlements. Ugh. That's not getting paid. Socialized health care would exacerbate our borrowing crisis to a dollar collapse level if the Democrats ever tried it.

At the height of his 'free media' attention and before we enter the negative campaign season in full, Obama leads McCain by 5% in the blended polls and actually has trailed McCain in some. No doubt McCain is one of the worst campaigners around but the voters are stubbornly refusing to get on the Obama bus. He'd better step it up and start talking about real issues, in detail.And since Hillary is out, he needs to pick anyone with a pulse and get this V.P. bullshit out of the way.

Normally, I'd be against Obama, because he's a Democrat. But the Republicans, with their borrow and spend mentality, are really selling out the next generation to benefit the greedy baby boomers. This election is a referendum on the corrupt baby boomer (and older) generation. They have to start being voted out of office, and it starts with the Presidency.

You know, I think Barack actually has a shot at the presidency now. Just because his name is saturated in the media all the time. You see McCain's name in the papers rarely and it's only in reference to Obama. Every media outlet you go to it's always Obama this and Obama that. Good and Bad. CNN should just change their name to Obama News and Fox runs negative editorials and shit but it REVOLVES around Obama. So Obama is basically getting free publicity that McCain can not. Combined with George Bush's inadequecy that opened the door and his war chest he should definitely be the frontrunner.
