Pencil This In

0807tobaccowarehouse.jpgMUSIC: The Music At the Bridge series keeps going with a night curated by Issue Project Room. John Zorn's Cobra, The Theremin Society, and Jonathan Kale will all be taking the stage. And as usual Brooklyn Brewery sells the beer while RICE sells the yummy food.

6:30 to 9:30 p.m. // Tobacco Warehouse, Brooklyn Bridge Park [1 Main St, DUMBO] // Free

READING: Tonight's summertime stories will bring together storytellers to share their steamy "tales of sandy swimsuits, broken air conditioners, and escapades unfolding in the sweltering heat." The night features Carlo D’Amore, Margot Farrington, Joey Hood, Adam Wade, and host H.R. Britton. Since we all have our own hot, smoldering garbage smelling NYC sidewalk stories, audience members are also invited to tell a three-minute tale of summer in the city.

6:30 p.m. // Tenement Museum Shop [108 Orchard St] // Free

THEATER: This week’s Ice Factory show is the dance/theater hybrid Heistman, by Obie-winner Matthew Maher and featuring Steven Rattazzi, who was so funny in The Dinner Party last summer. Described as Dog Day Afternoon meets The Unabomber Manifesto, the new production finds the titular Heistman “stuck—inside the bank he is robbing with his henchmen, inside his own tortured head, and inside the feeling that he can never have success or love. The cops have the joint surrounded, and have no answers. But the hostages do.” – John Del Signore

7 p.m. // Ohio Theater [66 Wooster Street] // $15

COMEDY: UCB Theater hosts the NY Post Live! tonight, as "tabloid news inspires a night of comedy." John Mulaney and Patrick Borelli "will take hilarious stories from the Big Apple's famous rag, and turn them into sketches and vignettes with the help of a few friends." Tonight Larry Murphy (Conan O'Brien) and Michelle Collins (Best Week Ever) join the duo.

8 p.m. // UCB Theater [307 W 26th St] // $5
