THEATER: 6 p.m. is a weird time to sit down for theater, but Don't Pet the Zookeeper is only an hour long, and besides, it’s Monday night, which means slim pickings for theater junkies in need of a fix. This elliptical new play from Rising Phoenix Rep concerns the confusing interview of Twyla, a woman who desperately wants to be hired as a zookeeper. And her prospective boss desperately wants to hire her, but has seemingly no idea what the job entails. "Twyla soon discovers that she may not have been hired to work in a zoo, after all, but in a place much more sinister." Martin Denton calls it “a fascinating, entertaining, and sometimes challenging hour of early-evening theatre, and highlights the talents of a number of remarkable young artists.” – John Del Signore

They've even been known to have some hot dogs, hamburgers and corn on the cob out there...but those will cost you!
