New Company Brings Graffiti Off Streets, On Bags

0807tatoot.jpgStreet art is now available for a price at a Foot Locker store near you. amNewYork reports on Tatoot, a new NYC company selling bags "designed by well-known graffiti artists, including Sexer and Zimad, both of the South Bronx. The bags are marketed as works of art with labels that show the names of the artists and the titles of the pieces." The company owners claim they don't support vandalism, but do appreciate street art, and "while government agencies waste time and money attempting to implement Anti-Graffiti ’solutions,’ Tatoot is giving talented graffiti artists an opportunity for self-expression to reach the masses through our brand of bag products." The line launched this month and bags run around $60 a piece.

i would buy a splasher bag, that is, as long as they don't let neckface make a bag.

The workmanship in the pictures looks terrible. I guess this will be another instance of suckers paying $60 for a bag worth maybe $15 just because they like the way it looks. Too bad it'll fall apart on them after a few months of use.
