Have the Carpet Match the Drapes

2008_07_dye.jpgSeen on a NYC subway: An ad for pubic hair dye. Yes, possibly next to Dr. Zizmor and Con Ed "On It" ads are some for Betty Beauty, which explains it's "Boldly going where no color has gone before." CityRoom asked the MTA if the ads needed to be vetted first, but apparently they were fine. The company was founded by Nancy Jarecki (who co-founded Moviefone with her husband Andrew, who directed 'Capturing the Friedmans' and wrote the theme music to 'Felicity'!). As for the question on some of your minds, she said in a 2006 Radar interview, "It doesn't come off if you engage in any sort of physical activity. So, go for it."

Boldly going where no color has gone before? I knew shitloads of art school kids in the 90s who dyed their pubes all kinds of colors. You can use any standard hair dye on the market. Just gotta be a little careful where you get the stuff (not to mention the bleach beforehand, if you need it).

All I can say is Thank God that some women still have hair!!! Nothing is finer than a thick, rich, luxuriant bush, brimming with a vast array of luscious aromas and flavors. And nothing is more foul than the hideous pedophilic Bald Eagle look.

I thought most women got rid of 75-100% of their hair anyway.

i used to date a natural redhead, which has nothing to do with my point which is go bald.

Grown women have pubic hair. Kids don't. I think it's a bad sign when a dude is turned on by a woman with no hair down there. That said, I think it's a bad sign when women are turned of by men with hair on their chests. That's fishy, too.

Sorry, I meant "turned off." I got salad dressing on my keyboard and slipped.

re: hair or no hair. Depends on the girl. Semitic women for example should just trim artfully with scissors, shaving is totally counter productive as their hair is so coarse that is becomes like sandpaper resulting is raw, chaffed chins, and it grows back so fast, the upkeep is a full time job. Women with finer softer hair (blondes, fair skinned brunettes) are the best candidates for going bald, which I prefer in this case. It's not so much about the look, it's about unhindered access to more soft, tender skin, no deadly cough inducing accidentally inhaled hairs stuck on the back of your throat, no trapped droplets of pee to make things smell and taste "off."

i feel it's a generational and/or regional preference..

i hate hair there for myself.. and guys need to trim too!

Re: #2

Peter, if your goal was to give me acid reflux, well played. I think it was the "aromas and flavors" bit that really drove it home.

What kind of ridiculous idea is this anyway? Next they'll start selling pubic hair stencils. Oh wait...http://www.amazon.com/Shaped-Pubic-Stencil-bikini-trimming/dp/B000ASGZ8S

Asshole bleaching, now there's an idea you can really get behind.

colored, natural, trimmed, waxed, landing strip, bald or a forest. i don't care, as long as it's clean.

"no deadly cough inducing accidentally inhaled hairs stuck on the back of your throat"

omg i hate when that happens.

i got behind snakefist's mom last night. time for her to get another bleach treatment

Damn it, Dad. I told you to stay off the internets. It's not for old people.

Who cares about cover/color, it's all pink on the inside, right?

jen chung shaved hers into a yin/yang symbol

@aveB4life, it's actually in the shape of a panda--not that it's any of your business!
