Bush Admistration: Record Deficit on Track for 2009!

2008_07_whitehouse.jpgSenators John McCain and Barack Obama better keep working on their economic policies: The White House released an estimate saying the deficit will grow to $482 billion next year, thanks in part, per the AP, to the "sagging economy and the stimulus payments being made to 130 million households in an effort to keep the country from falling into a deep recession." Keep in mind Bush inherited a $128 billion surplus in 2001. The budget office still says, "The nation's economy has continued to expand and remains fundamentally resilient," but let's cut to the Dow Jones Industrial slipping this afternoon.

Here come the questions about whether Clinton really had a surplus. No, not really, but it's undeniable that his deficits were much smaller than Bush's.

So here we are after almost eight years of chimp rule and we have: a ballooning national debt; vastly higher costs for necessities like food, energy, housing, education and health care; massively increased stratification between rich and poor; a devalued currency; a historic credit and financial crisis; rising unemployment; a negative household savings rate; collapses of major banking institutions; a mortgage crisis caused by scandalously lax lending standards; and of course rising overall inflation.

Good job, Bushie! Now please get the fuck out!

This is what happens when a useless spoiled brat WASP becomes president. He behaves just like he always did, only now he's got the whole country paying for his idiocy. It still makes me sick to think of how many people voted for him. Most of them still love him.

Are we now just referring to the White House as "the White"? (see typo in post...)

Because if so, I totally support that nickname.

Obama is going to have a lot of crap to clean up after these guys...

You can blame W for a lot of things, but Congress has control over taxing and spending. The Republicans had control for the first 6 years, but that's over now. No matter what critics say, this isn't a dictatorship, just a goverment of whimps.

It's the classic Republican poison pill: rack up huge deficits ahead of a Democratic landslide and paralyze their ability to create new spending programs and initiatives. Reagan's cronies first came up with this nation-killing caprice in the late '80's and those same neocons are running the Bush Administration now. These scoundrels need to be prosecuted for their high crimes and sent to a federal prison such as...oh, Guantanamo.

the reason why obama will be the first black president is not because he's the best candidate but cause Bush done fucked up the country that he's the only candidate left. George Bush let in the negroes into the white house. I hope the republicans put that in their pipe and smoke it.

"Ah'm gonna make a peelgrumage to recent sightin' of the Lady of Gualdalupe on a nacho chip. And theen she'll grant me three wishes. One of 'em, ah swear, will be for more money to plug up this here deficiticimete. Praise the Lord!"
