Yesterday afternoon, employees working at 232 Madison Avenue were told to lock themselves in their offices, because police were searching for an armed man in the building--apparently a doorman had seen a man with a gun enter the building. A suspect was found in a bathroom and taken into custody, but WNBC reports the police didn't immediately find the weapon. Still a witness told WABC, "I think whatever the police did today definitely stopped a situation from being far worse."

Well done doorman. Rule #1 don't let people with guns in the building.
and how is he going to stop him? with politeness?
he did exactly what he should have done, called the police and not get shot.
yikes. i was less than a block away yesterday afternoon.
that does not look like a green shirt to me. if he ditched it to get less noticed only to have that body with those tattoos, bad idea.
If he got rid of his green shirt in Williamsburg he would blend into crowd a lot easier.
I was there! We were parked in the garage across the street, where the police thought the guy hid his gun. They sent a police dog in to sniff around and he came back empty-jawed. The police must have been doing their job right and protecting civilians, because we couldn't get our car out for two hours... In typical NY fashion though - the garage made everyone pay for the time spent outside the garage waiting to get the cars out...
