U.S. Says Serbia Needs to Give Up Upstate Attack Suspect Within 10 Days

2008_07_miladin3.jpgAccording to the Daily News, U.S. diplomatic officials have asked the Serbian government for the return of Miladin Kovacevic by August 1. The 21-year-old is accused of beating a fellow Binghamton University student, Brooklyn resident Bryan Steinhauer, into a coma in May. Though Kovacevic was in custody, the Serbian vice consul general helped him make bail and gave him an emergency passport to flee the country. While the Serbian government has claimed it would work with the U.S. on the matter, Kovacevic has said he will not return to the U.S. and signed a contract to play basketball for a local team in Serbia.

Serbia willingly give up one of its own? LOL

Hell, they hid the biggest European war criminal since Hitler for years, while he paraded around in public.

They massacred thousands of innocent civilians in a campaign of genocide in the name of Greater Serbia. You think they give a sh*t about some SUNY student?

Only if it its refusal to extradite denies Serbia entry into the EU or if the USA threatens to bomb, as Clinton did, will Serbia listen to civilization.

I'm sure a strongly worded letter will do the trick! /sarcasm

We don't need to have any kind of relationship with Serbia, nor does Europe. Serbia is Russia's cheap little whore. Let Putin cream on their faces.

Can't we just send a sniper?

You guys are no better than the Serbian radicals with your sweeping generalizations. I guess none of you heard about the arrest of Radovan Karadzic two days ago, a small sign that the Serbian government and people aren't nearly as bad as you like to think.

Maybe if they let him know that they'll be a lot of Muslims in a US prison to fight, he'll come back.

Serbia wants in the E.U. and was under pressure to render these war criminals. The fact that they are the mere tip of an ugly racist, nationalist iceberg didn't escape my notice. Are there kindly wonderful Serbs? Absolutely. But they are held hostage by a hostile, savage majority of murderous thugs and thug-wannabes. Why mess with these people? Leave them to rot in their 400 year old grudges.
