Double Shooting in Alphabet City

2008_07_avedshoot.jpgA few hours ago, two people were shot on East 7th Street and Avenue D in the East Village. WABC 7 reports the gunman apparently used a rifle around 8:15 a.m.: "Eyewitness News is told the suspect fled in a blue or green Dodge caravan. It was quickly recovered, and a person was taken into custody at the 7th Precinct on the Lower East Side." However, it's unclear whether the person now is custody is the shooter and what the extent of the two victims' injuries are. Update: The shooting occurred outside a bodega. A 50-year-old was shot many times, while a bullet went through a window at the store and hit a bodega worker. The shooter was the one who turned himself in to the 7th.

Yeah, sarcasm parading as sophistication. Broadcast your dimwittedness why dontcha. I'm all for free speech. but please try to say something intelligent. Sarcasm is fun. I enjoy it. But its definitely not a badge of intelligence. Its the lowest form of social discourse. Its the stuff of rich drunks at cocktail parties in the 50's.

i bet the people shot were neither white nor hipsters.

Boy, a lot of the people on here are just sick.

    Hurray murder?

And maybe if you stopped bitching about hipsters FOR ONE DAMN SECOND you'd actually, I don't know, come up with something intelligent to say? It is seriously boring reading your whiny complaints.

I don't think it's nice that 2 people were shot. It happens all the time. It's not a renaissance. And it won't affect rents or prices of homes.

  • cmoney

    Nice, it's the NYC renaissance.
