Teen Flasher Preys on Park Slope

The Daily News exposes a flasher in Park Slope, or at least points out that there's one prowling the streets. That's right, a sexual predator is creepily stalking stroller central. The paper reports that a "man exposed himself to a 14-year-old girl after pushing his way into her apartment building two weeks ago," saying he had something to show her as he chased her up the stairs. The man fled when the teen's family heard what was going on in the stairwell and came out of their apartment. The NYPD confirmed the 5:30 p.m. incident, "adding that 78th Precinct detectives are on the case looking for the flasher, described as in his early to late teens, wearing black shorts, a gray T-shirt and a blue hat." Meanwhile, the poor 14-year-old victim, who had just moved with her family from their native South Africa, is scared to walk on her own anymore.

He was a teenager wearing black shorts, grey shirt and a blue hat. Such a helpful description, no? I'm sure he wears the same outfit everyday.

Headline paints the same conundrum as The Red House Painters.

Do they paint red houses? Or paint houses red?

Is he a teenage flasher? Or does he flash teens?

Ah, he flashes teens.

How can someone be in their "early to late teens"?

So he could have been 13 or 19?

Oh! he's both. See, I don't read.

That is the most useless perp description I've ever read. I don't know if people/media are afraid of being non-PC or not, but race is a key factor in identifying the person. Also, any distinguishing scars or marks would help. For example, was he circumcized?

Yeah ... I live in Park Slope, and that description matches approximately 80% of the teenagers I see in my neighborhood every day.

How do you come from South Africa and find yourself scared of a body part?

I think flashing is hilarious, but exposing yourself to an underage girl is wrong on so many levels.

Why can't he target Yuppies in the village or Rich people on the upper east? Both deserve a wakeup call.

Somebody ought to punch him in the dick.

It's Benny Hill's fault.

reading the comments is more entertaining than the story. he's a teenager who flashes teenagers.
isn't this what kids do in summer camp?

maybe they're communist house painters

zodak: I had that thought, too. But I don't think Mr. Kozelek would associate with Communists. I think he's a little pink, tho.

People look younger these days
The guy could easily be in his 20s

Castration punishment anyone?

Yep, we all should do drive-bys since that's what people do in south central LA.

Do you mean Drive-by moonings? I used to do that in my High School years. But surely its not as bad a flashing.

I'm thinking the guy actually said "I have a little something to show you." It would probably be more accurate in his case.

I've called the 78th Precinct 24 times this morning to report people matching that description. They just told me to stay where I am and that they're coming over to see me personally. I think they're going to give me a good citizenship award or something!

be on the look for a young or old teenage male, wearing clothing, or not.

Seriously. A proper id would include: Race, skin color, hair color, hair style, height, weight, accent, scars, and anything else that accurately descibes the attacker.

Otherwise don't bother.

What's the big deal? Why are we so ashamed of the human body? Or is is just the male body we are ashamed of? If this were a female no one would care. It's pretty sexist and discriminatory to get mad at someone just for being naked. If they touch you that's different (and worng) but, really, it's just a penis. They are pretty funny looking.

^Yeah, he's out there exposing himself to 14 yr. old girls out of concern for their awareness of human anatomy. And if the situation was so harmless, why is that girl now terrified to walk alone (not a bad fear to have for any 14 year-old these days)?
