Lorne Michaels's Stalker in Court

0807lornemichaels.jpgTurns out Lorne Michaels has a stalker (no, not Jimmy Fallon), and he was just in court. Reportedly a Manhattan Criminal Court judge "has upheld charges against a Long Island man accused of stalking" the Saturday Night Live producer. The 31-year-old, Evans Pidhajecky, had claimed Michaels stole his ideas after overhearing his conversations and hearing him sing (sounds like a slight case of Truman Show Delusion).

Pidhajecky had been attempting contact with Michaels at both his home and work; "mailing, calling or visiting Michaels at least six times last year," presumably in an effort to discuss getting credit for SNL skits. Arrested in December, but currently free on $1,500 bail, he had been trying to get the misdemeanor stalking charge dropped. However, yesterday the judge refused to do so and stated that "Pidhajecky's intentions were irrelevant" and his purpose of "discussing with Lorne Michaels the use of defendant's personal thoughts without his permission - was a factor creating a likelihood of reasonable fear on the part of the complainant."

The NY Post reports that Pidhajecky's lawyer maintains that no threat was made, and "just because you're Lorne Michaels doesn't mean nobody can get in touch with you." The case is back to court in one week.

Wasn't this guy the producer of a hit late night show back in the late 70's? Whatever happened to it?

Lorne Michaels totally stole MY idea. I'm telling you -- 1974, I came up with the idea for a gritty, late night live sketch comedy show that would gradually transform into a sterile corporate empire.

no, sorry pal- Lorne came up with his bad ideas all on his own

To further what appears to be popular consensus, why would anyone want credit for such tripe?

Evans?
