High Turnover for Weiner's Congressional Staff

2008_07_weiner2.jpgYesterday, Representative Anthony Weiner made headlines for his anti-big box stance and his praise of Mayor Bloomberg, which was a little odd, since Weiner often criticizes him, or just timed to coincide with Weiner accelerating his mayoral aspirations. Today, the NY Times looks at how he has the highest staff turnover for anyone in the NY House delegation in recent years. For instance, "Roughly half of Mr. Weiner’s current staff has been on board for less than a year," raising questions about whether his hard-charging, micro-managing style will work at City Hall. Weiner believes he'll be a fair boss and some former staffers still support and praise him, but one said, “People joke that two years of Chuck [Schumer] equals one year of Anthony."

He went to SUNY at Plattsburgh, an "institution" situated in small town run by very small minded people. That's where he got his "education" from, thus his style of management, which is very off-putting to his staff. Anyone for Mayor but this guy.

“People joke that two years of Chuck [Schumer] equals one year of Anthony."

I'm confused. Does that mean Anthony is twice as Jewish as Schumer?

Weiner bangs hotter chicks than any of the other potential mayoral candidates. I'd vote for him just for that.

What happened to his Body woman?

Hate to disappoint you #3, but rumor has it Weiner is gay. He's 40. never been married, certainly isn't dating, and other rumors say he and his ex-boss, Schumer, got it on. (Seeing Schumer's wife, Iris, can you blame him?)

I was referring to this little piece:

Is she his beard?

Great. So if you're 40 and have never been married you're gay. I'm going to be single forever.

huh huh. You said 'weiner'.

no Lanciano. If you are 40 and have never been married, you sir, are a true american hero.

Sounds like a douchebag with an anger management problem.

I doubt very, very much that the man is gay. I've met him a few times and he really didn't seem gay to me (though my gaydar is not very highly developed). He's on record as having dated some hot chicks and it's hard to believe that all of those women were in on a plot to deceive the public or the press.

BTW, I know Iris Weinshall and she's definitely not [exclusively] gay. Bi, maybe, I don't know. But not completely gay. So if she ain't getting it from Chuck then she's getting it somewhere else.

There's a reason people hate politicians and this guy's one of them.

Well, Plattsburgh must have been a drag for Jon Stewart, cause he was there w/ Anthony - they were roommates. Anthiny Weiner is the only political candidate Stewart has donated money too. They're still friends. And Anthony;s not gay. trust me.

Woops - sorry wrong - they were roommates AFTER college. But he's still not gay. he's an asshole, but not gay.

He sounds like some kind of anachronistic '80s Michael J. Fox character who's a diminuitively creepy overachiever that hits on any hot chick in his vicinity only to end up as "friends". Straight or gay, he inspires dread.

Hi melp,#15, says:

"And Anthony;s not gay. trust me."

Well, I heard it from a political source that he is gay!

What leads you to believe he is not? I mean, OK, he's 43 and not married. That is not unusual for straights.

But has he EVER had a girlfriend? If so, can you identify her? I asked around and no one can name any girl he has ever dated. He's not unattractive, has a nice job and salary, and is going places. So why no girlfriend?

But I did hear from a 'politician' that both he and Schmuck Schumer got it on when he was Schumer's aide.

So, please share with Gothamist your hidden knowledge on Anthony.

The above posters have it right - he's dating Hillary's body woman Huma Abedin. And she's not a beard, it's real . .

OK, great. His mother can rest easy.
