If you happen to be reading this in East Harlem, you’ve got a good shot at getting quick tickets to the Shakespeare in the Park revival of that ‘60s rock musical HAIR – you know, the one with that song "Age of Aquarius" from The 40 Year Old Virgin. The Public Theater is giving away vouchers for free tickets in all five boroughs through Saturday – today they’re at the El Museo Del Barrio (1230 5th Ave @ 104th Street) until 3 p.m. Sure, tickets are free anyway, but there's (theoretically) not such a crazy line for these. Just check the website for all the uptight, 21st century details about what “voucher” means to those squares at the Public.

Will they handing them out in the nude -- just to be in the character of the musical.
or you can win them in the online lottery. going tonight (rain, rain, stay away).
"Prisoners in ni**ertown it's a dirty little war,
3-5-0-0-.."
love that song. YOUTUBE it now.
I would love to see Hair again, but this just seems to be too much of a hassle. How the hell is can any working stiff get around to get vouchers between 1-3PM? And I can't see myself standing on line for 5 hours in Central Park anymore.

lanciano: this year, they started a virtual line; you sign in at some point in the morning of they day you want to go, and they announce who got tickets for that night's show from the virtual line after one o'clock. you have to pick up your tickets by 30 minutes before the show starts or they're taken for the stand-by line, but you don't have to wait in the morning at all. not sure how many they give away this way for each performance, but I was able to get Hamlet tickets this way and got my Hair tickets for tonight this way as well.
for Hamlet, it did take a number of tries before I "won".
Outter: shut up! don't tell people about the virtual line... in fact, there's no virtual line... move along,... go to Central Park...
I waited all day to see Hair on the next to last day of the performance at the Delacorte Theatre last September. At the last hour it was rained out. The least that can be done is for my party to recieve 2 tickets to Hair on Broadway.
