Former Wantagh high school teacher Heather Kennedy had been charged with having sex with 16-year-old student back in March, but now Newsday reports Kenney will face "five new charges of statutory rape charges." Someone tipped investigators, who found out the 25-year-old was still seeing the boy, apparently having sex with him five times since she pleaded guilty last month. Kennedy, who was awaiting sentencing for the first set of charges, is supposed to be arraigned today.

No legislator is ever, ever going to lower the age of consent though. Who campaigns on the promise to allow adults to have sex with 16 year olds?
If a female teacher has sex with a young male it's okay. If a male teacher has sex with a young female it's not okay. Is that hypocritical to say? No. Why is that? just because. Women need more bathrooms then men. It's just one of those things. Men are pre-wired for sex at an earlier age. This is one of those things where social and behavioral sciences don't mesh with the law.

In many states in the US "16 is old enough." In some, the age is higher than New York's 17. There is no federal law regarding age of consent.

I think it's disgusting. Teachers are supposed to care for kids, not molest them. I think I'd rather die than have any sort of sexual contact with a student. It's just wrong. Not to mention, teen-age boys are gross, unless you're a teen-age girl I reckon. :p

I know too many adults who were molested as children and most of them are messed up forever. It's wrong to force that kind of contact on someone who isn't emotionally mature enough to handle it.
