His take is '$5k a week' for life. He is clearing $165k per year, after taxes. That's great, just not Park Avenue. His estate is guaranteed $5 million, but if he lives another hundred years than he keeps getting that money.

[9] Um, that was JDS's attempt at humor. And even after taxes, he's getting a couple of million. He can buy a decent one-bedroom in Manhattan with plenty left over. He doesn't need to live in the same building. It just seems his new wealth comes with a new sense of entitlement. Nothing worse than the nouveau riche.

We had a doorman in our condo who married a resident. He quit a short while later and became a real estate broker. They moved to suburbs and will live happily ever after.
