Police officers shot a man in the shoulder earlier this morning. A woman has complained her ex was violating a protection of order and was armed. WNBC reports, "He fled from police, ducked between several cars and when he emerged it appeared he had a gun," so an officer fired. And according to WABC 7, the victim, who is expected to recover, "reportedly has numerous domestic incident reports lodged against him by this woman and numerous other women." But police did not find a gun.

too bad they didn't knock him dead.
thankfully Pb is still available. for everyone.
While Bingo is being a complete asshole about it (um, the two stories have nothing to do with each other, OK?), he does have a point about this shooting. Every shooting of an unarmed person deserves scrutiny, and hopefully we'll get more details about this.
waaah waaah waaah. Maybe its 'another person of color involved in violent crime' and not the cops fault. Next time here's to hoping they finish the job.
I'm a working reporter and live in Bed-Stuy - anyone know where this happened? Streets? Names? Names of officers involved? I'm going to start looking in to this and would love more info.
The cops should be reprimanded for poor aim. Seriously though, this guy who got shot in the arm will survive and most likely one day commit a violent crime, after suing the city for millions, of course.
I am a fully credentialed United Nations reporter, and the presidential campaign.
I'm investigating this now - scoff if you will, but childish bullshit won't help find out more information about this incident.
If you're a reporter/investigator, you would have checked the external links provided and seen that this was the address: Tompkins and Vernon Avenues, Brooklyn.
Holy crap I did! But guess what reporters do: ASK QUESTIONS. Regardless as to what and where the external links say, we still ask questions. Also: make phone calls, send email, get on the street. All three of which I have been doing while you all have been posting nonconstructive, juvenile comments.
;) You're cute. While you've been presuming and name calling, I've been on the phone with the 81st, WABC, and WNYC. I've also on the streets asking questions. The wonders of wifi, eh?
Regardless, I came here to ask questions. I had hoped to get some positive and/or constructive feedback. Silly me for assuming a constructive conversation could develop here. I've now learned to not waste my time with children.
Tah tah!
"I am a fully credentialed United Nations reporter, and the presidential campaign."
Hey! I’m a fully credentialed Empire State Building Reporter and the theory of evolution! We should have Starbucks!
A "reporter" who posts on Gothamist for news info? Pretty weak. Just graduate?
Tah Tah? Idiot. Check to see if you have wifi in your ass. And don't forget to ask questions!
