Giuliani and McCain at Yankee Stadium

Photographs of John McCain, Rudy Giuliani and Judi Giuliani by Carolyn Kaster/AP
It was been a big weekend for Rudy Giuliani! First, the Post reports he's starting up a fund-raising committee to keep Republicans in the State Senate. Then the NY Times reveals his firm will be going into real estate (to diversify Giuliani Partners' business), potentially buying properties in NYC and the DC-area. And, yesterday, the former mayor went to the Yankees-Athletics game at Yankee Stadium with Republican presidential contender--and one-time foe-- Senator John McCain.
Giuliani, with wife Judi, and McCain walked around the stadium, meeting with the teams, talking to some baseball fans, and fielding questions from reporters. When asked if he would consider being McCain's running mate, Giuliani said, "I'm not thinking about any of those things. I know you are! You have a right to think about it. And I have a right not to think about it because we've got an election right now to think about and get it done right." And Giuliani went to work boosting McCain's credentials, saying:
I think the fact that Barack Obama is kind of making his first tour, in essence, of the world, gives you an indication that John McCain is the man with the experience. John doesn't have to go for the first or second time to these places. He's been going for 20, 30 years. He knows the world. He understands the world. Without any disrespect to the other side, he's so far more experienced. ... I think the American people are going to take a look and say, 'We have to be very serious about this. The country has a lot of serious problems. We need a man who has experience.' John McCain has that experience.Oakland Athletics manager Bob Geren asked McCain what it was like to run for president, said, "It's like being in AA [baseball] and all of a sudden you're playing in Yankee Stadium." Less scripted was when McCain didn't immediately respond to fans chanting his name, Political Radar overheard one fan say, "He can't hear!"

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Make that three - what, Judi doesn't know enough to take her hat off during the Pledge, or she didn't want to muss her hair?
[ report this ]
[3] Word! As the wife of a former presidential candidate and political figurehead, she should have the fucking class, tact, foresight, etc to know better than leave her hat on during the anthem. She's not undergoing chemo or anything, right?

I didn't think I could hate Yankee fans more than I already do. But, the fact that they're cheering McCain and Guliani makes me even sicker.

Although I support McCain, Giuliani is tops of my list of politicians I despise, then Schumer.

Not saying that Judi isn't a dickhead, but women don't have to take off their hats when standing for the nat'l anthem.

Ghoul-iani is perhaps the most delusional man in politics today. I mean, If I were the mayor of Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7th, 1941, would that suddenly give me the credentials to talk out my ass like I am mr. worldly politician? what a scumbag.

Women are generally exempt from removing hats during the anthem. It's similar to how they can wear hats to church (and yes, the real reason is so that their hair is not messed up).
According to some, this exemption does not apply when the woman is wearing a baseball hat or other unisex style hat.

Wow, I didn't know they allowed jackals at Yankee Stadium!
As for the hat thing, the only people who genuinely care about that sort of thing also think that there is a link between Iraq & the 9/11 attacks. Why don't we get onto trashing McCain for the malicious & destructive politics that he represents instead of focusing on non-issues.

Every time i think to myself "No way this season can get worse. No way something could happen to add to the humiliation..." something like this happens.
last year for the stadium
a-rod and madonna bullshit

blegh.
[ report this ]
who in their right mind would support either of these two?
[ report this ]
They look like pretty expensive seats. Who paid for them?
[ report this ]
#1 said it best. fuck 'em.
[ report this ]
Suck it up bitter little haters. You're getting McCain in a few months and the Yankees are FOREVER.
[ report this ]
FU, indeed.
[ report this ]
I'm thinking the same thing, Snoopy. How did they get those seats anyway?
[ report this ]
How do you think they got those tix?
I just had the image of McCain buying from a scalper. LOL.
[ report this ]
why do they hold their hand parallel to their belt?
not cross chest like judi who's still doing the preppy sweater tied around her neck thing.
[ report this ]
shoulda got the asshole chant going for those two
[ report this ]
I'm thrilled to see them together.
