  • From the Gothamist Newsmap: An escaped prisoner at 183 St & Jerome Av in the Bronx, a CO incident at 42nd St & the U.N. in Manhattan, and a serious MVA on Ave R & Coney Island Ave in Brooklyn.
  • New Yorkers make up 17% of "both McCain and Obama's top 500 fund-raisers."
  • A NJ youth basketball program coach was charged with allegedly persuading teen boys to send him naked pictures of themselves.
  • Midtown Lunch organized a "massive taste off" of thirteen different Midtown street meat carts offering chicken/lamb over rice. It's unclear what kind of antacid was involved.
  • There was no room on Obama's plane for New Yorker writer Ryan Lizza whose story accompanied the controversial cover; of course, 149 other writers were denied seats (200 applied for 50 seats).
  • NY Times publisher Arthur Sulzberger Jr. told Ad Age, "The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post and Newsday or any other competitor can't steal our readers. We can lose them. And we're not going to lose them."
  • Possibly coming soon to MTV: College Humor the Show.
  • And iPhones are almost completely sold out at Apple Stores, so those people waiting on line will have to buy something else.
