Once Beautiful Buildings Now Threatened

2008_07_rkokeith.jpgLast week, amNew York listed ten buildings, either landmarks or in historic districts, "that have fallen into disrepair." They include the Empire Stores in DUMBO (the state has asked for green designers to submit ideas for its revitalization), the RKO Keith's Theater in Queens (pictured--and now for sale) and the oldest apartment complex in Manhattan, the Windermere. Queens Crap had some other suggestions for other landmarks-turned-eyesores.

Surprising coming from me, but in the cases of most of these buildings, it's time to let go.
