This morning around 4 a.m. there was another shooting in Williamsburg's south side. This one took place at South 2nd and Roebling Streets. As of 5 a.m. the 90th Precinct was still on the scene and doing an evidence search. One week ago, there was a shooting in the area as well, which left one man dead. Last weekend's incident happened on the same night that more machete stabbings occurred in the neighborhood.

Setting this shooting aside for the moment, what is going to be done about these stabbings? Unless it's a nut and copycats, I suspect it's probably gang related. Are these gangs invisible? Do they have superpowers that I don't know about? Perhaps they have a secret lair inside of an extinct volcano.
There's only one way to handle gangs and that's to infiltrate them and then eliminate them. This is the way the FBI handled white supremacist groups and it's the way these groups should be handled as well. Also, if the President of the United States is so keen on fighting a war against terrorists, these wannabe mobsters are a good target. Declare these gangs, by name, as terrorist organizations and round up their members using those laws. Let's see how tough they are then.

The victim isn't a hipster, he's Hispanic. Ironically, he was shot in the hip though.

2) You've got to be joking. Im gonna go on a limb and assume that the gang members are either of some kind of latin or eastern european background. In other words, they're local kids. How in the hell are the police gonna infiltrate a group of 16 -21 year olds? The majority of the gang kids in Williamsburg are not even half as organized as white supremacist groups. They have no ideology. They just have nothing to do. To suggest that they be rounded up as though they are terrorists is typically reactionary BS from a sheltered NYC transplant such as you probably are.

Instead of seeking out these murderous / deeply violent individuals, who are NOT from Ohio, we should encourage them. We should invite them to torch the million dollars condos that might otherwise inject capital, foot traffic, police traffic, security, and stability.
I personally don't much like how awfully generic these glass houses are, but I definitely am very shocked at the significant violence that the police seem unable to control, nor the families of these individuals to taper.

I haven't seen any news sources but it happened in front of my house. I was awake and heard the shots & screaming & called 911. I know the guy who was shot and I know his mother, she lives in the building next door.
I saw her about an hour ago coming home from the hospital, she's a wreck.She said the shooter was wearing a mask, didn't rob him or say anything, just walked up, shot him twice and ran off.

i live right next door and was told last night by the cops that where on the corner all night that the guy is in critical condition and he was shot in the liver. what is happening to this neighborhood? its scary
He's in intensive care, the bullet passed through part of his colon and kidney, not his liver, and he's expected to make a full recovery. What's going on tin this neighborhood is the result of years of neglect on the part of the 90th.
