Last Night's Action: A Perfect Ten

  • Mets 10 Reds 8: Johan Santana did not get his second half off to a good start. His ugly line of four innings and five runs put the Mets into an early 5-2 hole, but they managed to recover. Carlos Delgado hit a two-run homer in the fourth and Fernando Tatis added another in the fifth to put the Mets up 6-5. Unfortunately, that was a lead that Aaron Heilman and Scott Schoeneweis couldn’t protect. Heilman loaded the bases, with two outs no less, and then Schoeneweis gave up a bases-clearing double to make it 8-6 Reds.

However, the Mets still weren’t finished. David Wright hit a clutch homer in the ninth with one runner on to tie the game and then the Mets kept hitting, adding two more runs, thanks to six-straight hits to take a 10-8 lead. Billy Wagner came in and set the Reds down for the save, and the Mets moved into a tie for first in the NL East.

  • Liberty 77 Washington 56: Ashley Battle had 15 points off the bench and the Liberty cruised to an easy win.

10 Game winning streak for the Mets & they have a better record than the Yanks.

Well Done.

Was Willie Randolph really that bad? I guess so because these Mets are AWAKE!
