Grand Central Terminal's Metro-North waiting area now feature restrooms for women only. Like many other busy places where women frequently line up to use bathrooms while men never seem to have that problem (theaters, stadiums), female commuters and tourists alike find themselves waiting at various restrooms in the station. A Metro-North spokeswoman told the NY Times the GCT restrooms (which have "Botticino marble walls, seamless terrazzo flooring, Stony Creek granite partitions and mirrors with scalloped edges") are up for America's best restroom at bestrestroom.com.

If women didn't use public restrooms as social and entertainment centers they wouldn't have any lines, would they?
They would still have lines because you know how women can be...
Well, that, plus all the bags we carry!
maybe if they wore more thigh high stockings & no underwear, things would flow a lot faster.
We should get some penises!
Women usually take the kids with them to the restroom thus taking up more time. Also, women need stalls for privacy unlike guys who could just use urinals.
How about catheters?
Grand Central could always pick up some of those Seattle public toilets on eBay. Maybe Seattle offers combined shipping for multiple items.
Since it is common in Western culture (and maybe some others) to have separate restrooms for men and women, I take it the story here is not that the restrooms are separate but that there are women's restrooms which are not paired with men's, as is usually the case. However, it would be more efficient to get those Seattle public toilets mentioned above and sprinkle them about. Instead of forbidding their use for drug-taking and prostitution, simply demand a higher rate for extended stays or the conduct of business. Perhaps telephones and other amenities could be made available as well. Being stuck in Grand Central could become quite an adventure.
You just know that if men had all these problems with long bathroom lines they would have figured out a quicker way to pee. Well, I guess they already did.
I know (perfectly normal) women who can get in and out of a restroom faster than many men. The problem is easily solved, it just requires some intelligence and self discipline. And that's your problem right there.
It's a simple matter of anatomy. Women can't use urinals like men can, so their bathrooms come with stalls only. Stalls take up a lot of space. And men's and women's bathrooms are almost always the SAME SIZE. But you can fit more men in a bathroom at one time than women, because men use urinals.
If women's restrooms were slightly larger than men's restrooms, so that the women and men could have an equal number of waste receptacles -- problem solved.
How long did it take for officials to look @ the lines and figure this one out?
