Car Hits Deer, Deer Goes Flying into Bicyclist

2008_07_deerbike.jpgIn NJ, a bicyclist is in critical condition after being hit by a deer. According to the AP, George Ljutich, who was cycling with Cynthia Mooney, in Hopewell Township when a car hit a deer, which then went flying into the Ljutich's and Mooney's path. The AP reports, "Ljutich was thrown from the bike and struck his head on the pavement. Mooney sustained cuts and bruises"--and they were both wearing helmets. There have been some other recent incidents where deer have collided into people in NJ, but a state DEP spokesperson said, "Based on what's known about deer behavior, there's nothing occurring within the herd right now that might explain these accidents."

Hmm. That was interesting. Must have triggered the keyboard shortcut to post the message before I was done editing. Jake or Jen, just what is this shortcut so I know how to disable it?

You wish. I have no anger toward you. Disgust at your lying, sure. Pity and disgust that you have to lie to get attention, yes. But not anger.

  • spiritross

Yes once again Spirit, do you not care about the deer?

While I'm flattered at how much hate I have caused in you it still does not change the fact I stated above

Though I must say wow, what a tangent, wild stuff there, pretty funny I might add.

    Just because I hate people

Doesn't mean you have to take it personally.

    Though

I am flattered - blushing - at the insane anger you went on to say.

    As I said before

Now I hope you can sleep well at night.

    How's the deer?

  • Spirit of 76

Spiritross is full of it. One sentence he spouts "nothing is important in the grand scheme" pseudometaphysics, the next sentence he's angry at "biker scum." If nothing's important, why do bikes upset him? He's a liar like babyhitler, who claimed that he would toke himself to death at the first sign of infirmity then talked about having to pick up steroids at the hospital. Similarly, when Spiritross actually faces death, he'll be crying like a baby and whining that he doesn't want to die.

It seems freakish, but these chain reactions happen all the time, usually with other cars. There have been deer struck by one vehicle and sent through the windshield of an oncoming car in an opposite lane. New Jersey needs to cull these herds. I think spiritross was suggesting a human cull...that takes us into Hitler territory.

The headline makes it seem like the deer hit the bicyclist first. Better would be:

    Car Hits Deer Hits Bicyclist

  • spiritross

As with anyone, I certainly would not be.

Makes one sleep soundly at night.

    Hopefully you will now.

  • Spirit of 76

Well, obviously, you'd be no great loss.

  • spiritross

#3 What about the condition of the deer there?

Humanism is overrated - remember no one is special when there is population of almost 8 billion - and no philosophy or faith can change that fact.

  • QueensCrap

Why doesn't NJ install deer lanes?

  • Spirit of 76

The only scum I see is the person who couldn't care less that someone is in critical condition.

  • hogger

The only thing occurring with the herd right now is overpopulation.

Even on Long Island, they are completely out of control. If you have ever visited North Haven (just over the Sag Harbor bridge on eastern Long Island) between the hours of 6pm and 9pm, you'll find them meandering the streets, and even trotting alongside you as your drive or ride through the area.

Alas, many will starve to death, because local officials won't open a limited hunting season to thin them out. (I sort of agree.. although most the homes are far apart, I wouldn't want any stray shots hitting me or my property)

As cute as they are sometimes portrayed, and as exciting as it is when you see them up close, they are often regarded as "rats with antlers".

But if marinated and seasoned properly, they can be pretty decent eatin'.

Its about time the animals started their attack on the human race - especially any scum bicyclists.
