Whoever knows the step kids, may not really KNOW them at all. Neighbors also reported a DO NOT COME HOME sign posted in their window. Obviously the pregnant daughter doesn't live there, she has a hubby and two kids, so that leaves one person. Yes the son and from everything I heard from the neighbors he is a prime candidate for the shooter. They wouldn't give a key to a business associate, his fingerprints would naturally be in the house, the dog did not bark,( yes the dog was tested for sedatives and drugs, negative to either)he has been in trouble with the law etc...Not saying it is him but, neither did the people in Sugar Land Texas think the son in the house had anything to do with his mother and brothers murder. The poor father just happened to live. He sits on death row.

The woman next door was up at 5:20 am just in case "banging noises" might come from that house; the stepkids were ominously silent as a gun entered and then exited their divorce attorney step-parents' home; the housekeeper showed up for work on time only to have her punctuality unacknowleged; the dog refused to comment.

As someone who grew up in Marine Park, I can understand why they'd think it was firecrackers. The place, for better or worse, is pretty much Mayberry. You get some vandalism, non-violent theft, destruction of property, drunken fights, drunk driving, a few muggings, and the occasional fire, but nothing this major. A lot of cops and firemen and other city workers used to (and in many cases still do) live there, so crime was never high or major (at least in my experience). Considering that people are still talking about a fire that gutted a house and killed one of my schoolmates in 1994, this is going to be talked about for the next 20 years at Flood's Tavern.

The entire 63rd Precinct must be collectively shitting themselves.

"Marine Park doesn't have to worry about double-locking their doors."

Apparently they do.

My 'source' believed the sound to be heard was firecrackers, but of course they were the gunshots. And the dog didn't bark. The source is an earwitness, looked into the house, saw nothing, and the dog wasn't barking.

My money is on one of the stepkids.

And my question for all these neighbors: if they heard shots at 5:20 in the morning, why didn't they call the police? These people weren't found until the poor housekeeper got there several hours later.

I know the person that lives next door to that person who lives next door. She also already spoke to the police. Shots were fired at 5:21 a.m. The dog almost barked but decided against it.

Sheesh.
