The reason they probably chose Red Hook is because of isolation more than anything else. If you think that show isn't produced in a pretty controlled environment, you're just retarded.

Red Hook is not THAT ghetto--there are a handful of hipster bars and restaurants. But yeah, WTF? Are they REALLY going to be waiting on Van Brunt Street for ye olde B61 Bus whenever they want to even go to the subway? I canNOT imagine this is going to really happen.

I was in a bar in the East Village a couple of months ago and overheard some douchbag of a guy telling a girl that he was in The Real World. Couldn't make out any more, as I soon became engaged in some interesting conversation with a comely young lady. I'd be happy if they staged the show in Staten Island.
