Stanks for the Memories

While columnists, TV commentators and many others are falling over themselves to bid Yankee Stadium a respectful, sentimental good-bye, players were a little more honest when asked what they wouldn't miss about the house that Ruth built.

The NY Times spoke to a number of visiting players, who offered these reasons it was easy to say good-bye: “The smell,” “The tiny clubhouse,” "Hitting my head on the dugout,” the smell again, and others. But Diamondback Brandon Webb had a parting shot aimed at the not-as-celebrated home of the Mets, "I think Shea smells worse."

Last week, a group of South Bronx residents sued NYC and a waste recycling company over stinky sewage facilities.
