Not too many chances for baseball fans to see (sort of) up close and personal: Aaron McCovey Marichal Feller Ford Berra Brock Ozzie Robinson (Frank and Brooks) Carew Killebrew Brett and a host of other HoF'ers - past and some of the future. A good use of my "extended" lunch break.

I work in Midtown and it's ridiculous the amount of HUGE Chevy trucks they are using to cart the players through the parade route. There's one for each All-Star. That's a buttload of gas, and if I'm not mistaken, we the taxpayers are footing the bill for it. They could have made two floats, one for each league, and the parade would have been shorter and "greener". Also, I saw the cops pulling out their AR-15s just in case the crowd gets too rowdy, I guess.
