The Daily News sheds some light on Saturday morning's stabbings in Williamsburg (though the Post's sources seem to tell a slightly different story). They report: "A machete-wielding mob marching down a gritty Brooklyn street stabbed a pair of teenagers Saturday during a bloody night in the city that left two other men dead. About 15 suspected gang members, wearing T-shirts over their faces, stormed down S. Third St. in Williamsburg around 2 a.m. brandishing 18-inch blades and yelling for their intended target to show himself." The group, who are said to belong to Trinitarios gang, couldn't find their target so attacked his two friends instead. They are both expected to survive. No arrests have been made, and it's still unclear if these stabbings were related to previous ones.

18 inches blade?!?? ...
Where can I buy one of those ... it's for cooking usages =)
Gangs are so 1990.
The Post's take on the S3rd street stabbings is very different.

I wonder what really happened.
I have an opinion about gangs that would put Hitler to shame.
Hitler is one solution. But if this small knife crimes epidemic is a mini version of the mega-epidemic that's occurring in London:
http://voanews.com/english/2008-07-13-voa21.cfm
then we're seriously fucked because it's not about a couple of bad kids corrupting the good ones. It's about a whole social system getting rougher and more violent. Kids in London are carrying knives to protect themselves.
Gritty? Stormed? Brandishing? Sounds more like Chandler than the Daily News . . . which isn't bad.
"Gangs are so 1990."
1990 may be coming back in a few years. The current "party" won't last.
I never understood why people use knives when they can use pencils. If you stab a sharpened pencil into someone it goes in just as easily and you can break off the tip so that the victim bleeds more profusely. This also makes it more harder to extract cause the paramedics have to cut around the flesh to get it out. You also don't have to worry about authorities getting on your case for carrying pencils. and you can use them on multiple choice tests.
Hey Bloomberg, how's that "sanctuary city" bullshit panning out?
^
Let's tell Bloomberg that it'll hurt tourism. He'll say "Oy, Gevelt!" and go plotz!
What the hell do these all-growed-up crack babies think they are? The Janjaweed? FARC?
Speaking of Britain, let's put up some security cameras, eh Bloomie?
BH, especially when you hold one Navy SEAL style.
It would be funny if they were just killing each other, but they are now going after humans.
I don't think these kids have a "5-year plan." The easiest way to earn "bling" is to get a job and cash that check; this urban garbage deserves to be discriminated against.

What about the attack on the woman walking through Mccarren Park? She was chased down the street. This was a direct attack.

COMMENTS:
#3 - When was the Greenpoint guy arrested?
I witnessed an attempted stabbing near McCarren Park just last Tuesday 7/8 at around midnight. I was waiting for the bus outside of Matchless (Manhattan & Driggs), with a lot of people around, walking, smoking outside, etc. I hear a scream, there's a woman standing about 50 feet away, and a heavyset guy with a dark hoodie running away, real fast down the street, and away from the scene. The woman seemed okay, until she walked past us trembling and saying that the guy had threatened her with a huge knife. I think she called the cops because they were buzzing around the area shortly after the incident.
Someone would have to be nuts to pull that shit with so many people around. Right about now... Not feeling too cool walking on empty streets in W-Burg (or Greenpoint. or Queens.)
(The target was a 30-something white woman walking alone and carrying a large purse. Purse wasn't taken. She wasn't a hipster, thanks.)
