Cops Fatally Shoot Armed Man in Brooklyn

2008_07_bklynshooting.jpgLast night around 8:45 p.m., police officers patrolling in Bedford-Stuyvesant killed a man who fired at them. They had seen the man, per WNBC, "running down the street with a gun in his hand." When they asked him to stop, he fired instead.

According to the Daily News, he fired at least four rounds: Once after they tried to stop him and then three more times when his exit was blocked (he tried to run towards a school, but there was a 15-foot tall fence). At that point, the police opened fire and the man died from a gunshot to the head. It's unclear how
many other shots
were fired by the police, but one witness told the News there seemed to be many, "When I came out they were crouching by the car shooting at the guy. I heard a lot of bullets. You actually saw his body jumping from the bullets."

Also in Brooklyn, a 15-year-old boy was shot to death in the Brownsville section. The 2 a.m. shooting also left two other teens injured.

Well, the man allegedly didn't stop and drop his weapon when they asked him--instead, he fired. You can't run around the streets holding a gun--I'd expect the police to ask anyone running with a gun in his/her hands to drop it. We'll see when more details come out about the shooting.

Where does it say the suspect was a "person of color"? He may or may not be, but it's odd that you'd automatically assume that.

The guy had a gun and was shooting at cops. How else do you expect the cops to react?

You shoot at cops, they shoot back. That's how it is.

Don't get pissy because there are more of them and they're better shots.

I don't care what their race is, or what direction they are running. If someone shoots at the cops, they are within their rights to fire back.

bingo,

Thanks for letting me know that 39 shitbags have been properly disposed of by the men and women of the NYPD.

One less scumbag on the streets. Hail Hail NYPD.

wow, it's all happening in threes,
tony snow, bobby murcer and this guy.

wasn't this the good part of brooklyn!?

yes cops have no right shooting at any criminal, no matter how violent, that is black. Blacks should be placed on a pedestal and we must be careful not to step on their toes lest we incur their wrath. I hope someone told Sharpton about this!

Wow that perp did a 'fusillade dance'. Imagine if that got onto YouTube.

If you're running down the street with a gun in your hand, it doesn't really matter to anyone which direction you're running. One less Darwin award to be handed out, next!

#1 People with any sliver of people skills would know that firing at cops is the same as digging your own grave. Why you would try to group everyone together based on color and not how stupid or smart each of the victims were is beyond me and probably the rest of the cognitional readers here.

Bingo,

The person you quoted was being SARCASTIC. NO ONE here agrees with you.

You really think it was ok for him to shoot at the cops after they asked him to drop the weapon he was running through the streets with? You seem to be ignoring this fact.

You act like the cops muster up and plan "Let's kill black people!"

It's frightening how retarded you are.

Now on iTunes, "Fusillade Dance", featuring the dope beats of the NYPD, with dancing video provided by NYC's own anonymous geto thug, in a Darwin-award-winning final performance.......

Bingosbackup = idiot

bingo = idiot
