the great lawn now allows up to 50,000 people on the lawn. the other 25k people were sent to other areas of the park to watch the concert on big screens. during the dave mattews concert over 80,000 people congregated on the lawn causing over $100,000 in damage to the grass. the RNS protestors didn't have a permit and were rejected. paul simon's concert in the park drew over 600,000 people... the most ever.

was there tonight -- watched JBJ from a makeshift jumbotron (minitron?), but the best entertainment came from the cops handcuffing a drunk guy right in front of us.

hmmm. how did major league baseball get a permit for the great lawn. Didn't the city say that groups over 10,000 (or what ever it was) posed a threat to the security and safety of us all around the time of the RNC convention 4 years ago??? and Bon Jovi? what year is this? and BTW all those people lined up for iphones or broadway tickets, they are breaking that law they made up to bust critical mass. won't hear about that on 4 new york
