$calping Free Bon Jovi Tickets is Legal

0807jbjnyc.jpgIt's no surprise that ticket prices for the Bon Jovi concert being held in Central Park this Saturday went from free to $1500 in no time. As we mentioned yesterday, Spitzer had signed a legislation making online scalping legal, and Bloomberg agrees that there's not much that can be done. The mayor declared to the NY Post:

"The scalping is just a way of life. I can't tell you it's not worth that kind of money. It's up to you if you want to spend the money. But whatever the scalping laws are, you're going to have to comply with them."
It's up to the officials at MLB to enforce their limitations, which they said they plan to do.

Meanwhile, Jon Bon & Co. want the show to go down in history as the Most Important Musical Event on the Great Lawn of all time. (Suck it Paul Simon!) Unfortunately, they could only get Bloomberg to go up from 50K to 60K on the allowed attendance, which just isn't gonna cut it. The extra 10K people will be placed in overflow areas and have no view of the stage. No word yet from JBJ about his feelings on his fans paying out of the nose for the free show -- but as long as they're there for him, it seems like he's okay with it.

Seems like a lot of hoopla for a guy that's going to do nothing more than shake his behind and sing offkey through his nose.

Elvis is playing the Great Lawn?!

JBJ fucking sucks. What did he make? Dead or Alive? In 1990? Phh.

Because criticising his music is such a more important issue then criticising the fact Scalpers have been pretty much told what they're doing is okay.

Scalpers > Richie Sambora

Heard on the Boomer and Carton radio program that 60-70 thousand tickets were given out and only 50 thousand people are let in. Carton claimed that the tickets says (paraphrasing) This Ticket does not guarantee admission into the concert. So if this is true there's the potential that some idiot payed 1500 for a ticket that doesn't guarantee admission.

Joh Bon Jovi needs to be scalped. He's how old? And look at that cheesy hair. He needs to do the middle-period Elton John thing, on a number of levels.

I'm amazed at how many people still love Bon Jovi. Which is odd because I'm not fazed at all by the idea of "Fanilows."

His hair is pretty atrocious. And it looks like he stole Green Day/Chemical Romance's jacket too.

It looks like he needs to get scalped.

I hope all the tickets get scalped. The people who pay $1500 for tickets are a lot less likely to tear up my neighborhood than the losers who waited in line for the free tickets.

Who the hell is paying $1500 to a general admission concent of anything, let alone JBJ?

JRod: Hahah good one.. it's actually a JBJ branded jacket made by Kenneth Cole. They were actually selling them for charity for something like $750 apiece.
