- Today on the Gothamist Newsmap: a shooting on 119th Ave. and 153rd St. in Queens, an abduction on East 174th St. and Southern Blvd. in the Bronx, and a serious trauma at 120 Broadway in Manhattan.
- The young woman who snapped pictures of boxer Oscar De La Hoya cavorting in women's lingerie was busted trying to leave the Macy's in Herald Square with lots of unpaid-for merchandise.
- A Long Island man was arrested after punching and then stabbing another man several times as the victim sat in his car at a North Massapequa gas station.
- The polished and engraved cornerstone of the Freedom Tower that was dedicated on July 4, 2004 was later removed and currently sits in a work lot of a Long Island stone company.
- Misael Fuentes, the 14-year-old boy who was rescued from a Brooklyn house fire along with seven members of his family early Tuesday, succumbed to his burn injuries and died yesterday.
- Information on the Newtown Creek Cruise run by the Center for the Urban Environment.
- A Parks Dept. worker accosts a woman for taking playground pictures of her own daughter because other kids may be included in the frame.
- It may not give its eater an extra life, but someone's found a way to prepare 1UP mushroom burgers that some may recognize from Mario Bros. games.
