- From the Gothamist Newsmap: Missing children at 243rd St & Barnes in the Bronx, a serious assault at Grand Army Plaza in Brooklyn and an electrocution at Broadway and Cedar Street in Manhattan.
- Yesterday, one thousand thirteen people were sworn into what Police Commissioner Ray Kelly called the "world's greatest police force."
- An accountant at Riverdale Country School embezzled nearly a million dollars; one parent was alerted when a tuition check was paid against the accountant's car loan.
- Murray Hill madam Kristin Davis, whose prostitution ring was linked to former Governor Spitzer, was released on bail after three months in jail.
- The Water Taxi is coming back to Williamsburg.
- The tunnel boring machine digging tunnel for the MTA's East Side Access Project has completed a one-mile excavation. According to the MTA, this tunnel is from "63rd Street and Second Avenue to the terminus of what will become a new station and concourse underneath Grand Central Terminal."
