There's a new awesome restaurant right at that intersection called Bar Tano. Excellent food and great selection of wine and beer.

One problem is that there are some sort of subway vent grates in the median of the road for a good portion of 4th Avenue. They are higher than the curb to prevent flooding and would have to be worked around.
