Expect More Big Box Retailers in Brooklyn

The Brooklyn Paper talks to a number of people about the inevitability of more national, big box and chain retailers coming to Red Hook. One commercial real estate broker says, "There are a lot of large parcels of land that are owned by single landowners [and] it’s favorably zoned.” So, will the death knell be a Wal-Mart...or an Olive Garden?

    Very simple to stop this. Just rezone the entire area R10. Suddenly, it is no longer economically feasible to open a big box store.

    Bed Bath and Beyond is cheap stuff. I bought a desk lamp and it broke in a year.

    why? there's already a big one right off the f train on 6th ave. you creep. it's a nice store though you don't need it often.
