Fact check: therehttp://gothamist.com/profile/midnightbreakfast's a flyer in the neighborhood where this happened posted by police and it has the murder occurring at "1700 hours." (Odd how they use military time on notices for civilians.) Anyway if I'm not mistaken, 1700 hours = 5 p.m..

Many are commenting on why a 15 year old is out 2:30 am but that is not an issue. He was walking home not going to cause trouble or doing any illegal activity. He was 15 not 5. Teens are at an age to start learning and experiencing life and taking on more responsibilities. Usually when you're in your teens you start having those "teens" urges like wanting your first car or going on your first date. So him being 15 and out at 2am means nothing, he was just being a 15 year old teen, out by himself and coming home from a party which is not illegal. This is just a sad event, nothing to do when him being out so late or reflects on the parenting of this child.

I thought video games kept kids indoors which in turn made them fat. I see teens out at 2:30am in the suburbs hanging out by the railroad stations. they too, have no regard for public or personal property.

Wow, this is horrible and sad. I was wondering what a kid was doing out at that time of night too, but many of the people I know who grew up in NYC describe their teenage years as filled with parties at clubs and bars in the city - and this was a time when the city was considerably more dangerous than it is now. That said, it's a shame how bad parts of Harlem remain.

I was up there yesterday at around 6pm and honestly the area is a fucking cesspool/war zone. There's absolutely no care for personal property, public property and certainly human life. I also the family and friends of this child huddled speaking to Fox 5.

I agree that this kid should not be walking around at 2:30 in the am but I don't think his punishment should be death. I only hope this serves as a warning to the youth that you don't need to be out at 2:30 in the AM if you are under 18.

The person who fired the gun may very well have not had a "legal" gun. Plus, the Supreme Court simply ruled that we have the right, not that more guns are needed. The ruling was in defense of liberty.
