Desperate Househusbands and the City

2008_06_mensat.jpgNetwork executives are probably already buying the rights to this NY Times story about a group of stay-at-home dads (well, ones with stay-at-home careers, like sculpture and screenwriting) who convene while their kids attend P.S. 234, the coveted public school in Tribeca. The group formed when one dad was jealous after seeing moms hanging out after dropping their kids off. One explained why it's all cool for them to hang out, "We do more parenting than our type-A wives and feel we’re justified.”

If this story is made into a TV show I'll have to be sure to make a special effort not to see it.

I thought for sure this was a jen carlson post.

I really don't think hanging out at Puffy's Tavern at eight-thirty in the morning until three forty-five in the afternoon to play cards and drink is such a good idea.

if these guys had any balls they would make tuesday 'spa' day and go for happy endings.

Is the Baby Doll Lounge still open down there in Tribeca?

as someone who knows a girl who 'dated' of these guys recently I can with complete authority that other activities are pursued..namely cheating!!

so fyi wives- if your hubbys 'stay at home' yet have an active social life where drinking is involved, you might want to make them wear a condom!!!!

These guys are banging cocktail waitresses Fredo-style - two at a time. Not bad considering the guy upfront has moobs.
