Chris Noth Out, Jeff Goldblum In L&O Criminal Intent

2008_06_jeff.jpgThe revolving door of Law & Order universe rotates again. Producers of Law & Order: Criminal Intent announced Chris Noth is leaving and Jeff Goldblum will be joining the show. Producers and Noth describe the decision as mutual.

Executive producer Dick Wolf said, "Chris has been a member of the 'Law & Order' family since the beginning, and Mike Logan is one of the most popular detectives in the history of television." And Noth told the Post, "I've been in the 'Law & Order' franchise a long time. Let's just say I've pretty much squeezed all the juice out of that role... I'm gonna miss everyone I work with every day."

As in previous seasons, Noth's Mike Logan and Vincent D'Onofrio's Robert Goren split up the episodes; apparently there are only two more Mike Logan episodes left. As for Goldblum, he will start this fall. Wolf said, "Jeff's presence will add a new dimension to an already successful show." Some hope the new dimension will be a drunk one.

If Law&Order ever has a killer dinosaur episode, the Jeff is just the guy to trick them in to confessing.

How could you not like Jeff maybe he will use his super fly powers.

Earth girls are easier than ever - witness the fitness of Goldblum's cat-like smile and plain HEIGHT!

Omfg... I have waited for this day for a long time... Jeff Goldblum has needed a starring role in a television show for awhile and Law & Order is perfect. I only watch Criminal Intent for the non-Dnofrio episodes, so WIN WIN.

Man, I hope he can figure out how to play something other than a nerd.

  • neoconfascist

He's looking more like a Vulcan in his old age.

  • west side Michael

I liked my old room mate Michael Moriarty in

    that role.

He is a good singer and Dick Wolf should have

used that talent then we could have had our own

    "Singing detective".

Have you ever seen the fly? I can't even begin to imagine the fear he will strike into criminal's hearts.

  • i liked jeff goldblum's tiny role in Next Stop Greenwhich Village Chris Walken also was a good player in that movie.

  • Toby von Meistersinger

In his last TV series gig Raines he played a LAPD cop that saw dead people (sort of). The show only lasted a couple of episodes, but it wasn't bad. So hopefully he'll do pretty good in the L&O CI role.
