Park Slope Resident Attacked, Slashed

Last week an ex-con attacked a woman in Park Slope, and the news is hitting the papers today. The NY Post reports that 32-year-old Thomas Russo followed 39-year-old Diana Greiner along 6th Avenue in Brooklyn last Tuesday around 11:45 p.m. Somewhere near Lincoln Place, Russo struck Greiner's skull (fracturing it) and slashed her face and body before fleeing on foot into a bodega. He was caught on tape and is currently being charged with attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon. Russo had violated his parole in April, but was still free to roam the streets; his prior run-ins with the law included attempted robbery and marijuana possession.

Diana's an amazing acrobat who trains and teaches at the LAVA studio in Brooklyn. We're all hoping she recovers quickly.

@thefacts.. huh? your logic could easily be applied to increasing sentencing for attempted robberies: "his prior run-ins with the law included attempted robbery and marijuana possession."

this is especially important considering the victim is a white park sloper. if it was on the other side of the park, then no big deal

wOOt! Just the occasion and day to buy a gun!

  • thefacts

This is a good example to continue to criminalize marijuana.
