Given the bullshit that goes into taking a plane to anywhere, including Chicago, under a thousand miles is almost ridiculous. I have driven to Chicago in twelve hours and the plane route will take me eight. And when I get there I have my car. Where is the time saving?

Forget about Albany, it's the Trenton of New York state. Would you fly to Trenton? or Harrisburg?

Lose the airlines altogether. They are a key contibuting factor to the nation's obesity epidemic. Make those fat fucks walk or ride a bike to Chicago.

"Any cuts in traffic out of LaGuardia would definitely help with the congestion situation and may shorten delays. The airport handles way too much traffic for what its designed for anyway, even with the 'Perimeter Rule'."

Absolutely.

Governor Paterson is shortsighted if he thinks that cutting the number of flights at LGA is anything but a good thing.

LGA experiences long delays and cancellations literally every time something out of the ordinary happens. A light drizzle or even clouds is enough to trigger a clusterfuck. And there are long runway delays almost every day during "rush hour." This is all because of too many flights -- if there was a more reasonable schedule, airlines would be able to deal with minor bumps.

If airlines cut, the flights may be fewer and a bit more expensive, but the flight experience will improve dramatically.

Airplanes should be for longer routes and trains for shortener routes.

Why should a company not make a profit? Patterson for comptroller in 2010.

BTW who would want to go to Albany?

I disagree with Paterson here. Let the airlines cut out shorter, less profitable routes. Trips to Albany are what trains are for.

Take the train. It will only be slower and less convenient than driving.

grooverider, I suppose you're referring to the "and" in the Paterson quote? That's how I pulled it from WCBS 2--thanks for noticing, I'm taking it out.

Governor David Paterson to ask the airline to "take into account more than profit and when they evaluate routes. For many, these airlines are a critical lifeline to family and business obligations."

I think it's about time you hired a minimum wage assistant to proof read your own posts... cough... editor.
