potestill.jpgTHEATER: Three monologues by a trio of stellar actors make up Judith Thompson’s play Palace of the End, which views the American occupation of Iraq through the eyes of three different participants. One is a former soldier modeled on Lynndie England, the infamous Abu Ghraib photo star; the second character is an evocation of David Kelly, a British arms expert who committed suicide after it was revealed that he leaked dirt on the government to the BBC. The play concludes with a monologue by an Iraqi woman who lost her family during Hussein’s rule but blames the C.I.A. The Times calls it “intense, absorbing, and thought-provoking.” – John Del Signore
