This club is awful - I bought tickets 2 weeks in advance for the recent Dec 11. sold-out Sebastien Tellier show. The doors were listed to open at 10:30 pm, headlining artist to perform at 12:00 a.m. I stood in an unmoving line outside in pouring rain for 3 hours, and when I realized I was missing the artists I intended to see, I left without even getting in. Mind you, I was still waiting in line after 3 hours and hadn't moved forward at all. The organization the venue has in place to let in people with advance tickets was terrible and I will never buy advance tickets to this venue again. Places such as Webster Hall holds triple the volume of this club and it takes 30 minutes for the will call to get in if even that. They also did not refund my admission. This club and its promoters are a bunch of frauds.

It can certainly be completely overwhelmed with a crowd, as seen at the New York Burlesque Festival. But the seats were saved for premium ticket holders.

um, hello, their press release omits the most legendary performer who played there - BOB DYLAN. too cool to mention dylan? is he too mainstream? ugh.

Saw The Tren Brothers there last week. It's a nice space and they were perfect for it. The place was only half-full though. It's nice to have shows with seating. Don't know how it's gonna work with a packed house and everyone fighting for those seats. I don't smoke but the ambiance was begging for it.

I don't know if I would compare Soulive and Rickie Lee Jones to the calibre of "...Jimi Hendrix, Allen Ginsberg, Jim Morrison, Timothy Leary, Andy Warhol, and the Velvet Underground". I hope this place works out as NYC is bleeding venues like crazy.
